A drawing lets you examine a proposed composition. A tattoo photograph shows work on skin, and a healed view shows that work at a later stage. Check which one you are looking at when comparing portfolio images.

What can a design study demonstrate?

It can show subject selection, line arrangement, ornament and a possible composition. It does not establish how that drawing was tattooed, whether it is still available or whether its details suit your intended size. A digital body mockup also remains a planning image rather than a photographed result.

Comparing the healed photograph

Look for a connection to the same work when comparing views. Different lighting and angles can change the appearance, so avoid treating every visual difference as a measured change in the tattoo itself.

Does a design listing guarantee availability?

No. Ask about the drawing you like and how it could relate to your project. A catalog image is an invitation to discuss a direction unless availability or terms are explicitly stated and current.
