Fallen Comrades — Memento Mori

This tattoo honors fallen comrades through the familiar military memorial arrangement of combat boots, a rifle and a helmet, often called a battlefield cross. The Memento Mori banner gives the composition its name; its purpose here is remembrance of those who did not return.

Black-and-grey shading describes the worn surfaces of the boots and equipment. The paired photographs show the full composition alongside a closer view of the boots, giving space to both the memorial as a whole and its smaller details.
